InFocus M812 and M370 to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow update next month

InFocus M812 and M370 to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow update next month

InFocus recently released the M812 and M370 smartphones in the Indian market with competitive price points. The company has now announced that it will send out the coveted Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for both the handsets starting as soon as next month.

This is an excellent initiative by the company to keep its devices updated to the latest version of Android and will go a long way in building its faith among the customers. Historically, we've seen that budget and mid-range handsets are often neglected after they are launched, but it's good to see that InFocus is an exception to that and might possibly serve as an example to other OEMs.

The M812 is slightly on the expensive side with a price tag of Rs 19,999, but the M370 is strictly a budget handset carrying a price tag of Rs 5,999. The company hasn't shared a precise timeframe of when the smartphone will receive the update, but it should happen sometime before the end of the year.

Smartphones from InFocus feature the InLife UI on top, so we can expect a revamped version of that skin coming bundled with the updates. Android 6.0 will introduce features like Android Pay, a revamped user interface as well as Doze Mode which will significantly increase the standby times of your handset.
