Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 announced with an all-metal body and a budget price tag

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is perhaps the company's worst kept secret with leaks and rumors already giving us an excellent idea of what to expect from the device.

Well, the company has officially announced the handset today, sporting an impressive hardware specs sheet and an even better price tag. This is a policy that's worked quite well for Xiaomi in the past as we've seen with devices like the Mi 4i as well as the Redmi 2 recently in India.

For now, the Redmi Note 3 remains a China only offering although the company would be keen to bring the device to the Indian markets as well. But we're not getting our hopes up considering how the company handled the Redmi Note 2 launch a few months ago.

The Redmi Note 3 comes with a premium grade metal body all throughout and a neatly placed fingerprint scanner on the back. The company claims that the device can unlock with your fingerprint in just 0.3 seconds, which is quite spectacular for a budget device.

The device also comes with a massive 4,000 mAh battery underneath, featuring support for fast charging (0-50% in 1 hour), which tells us that Xiaomi has covered all its bases with the Redmi Note 3.

The handset will be available in Gold, Silver and Dark Grey color variants with a price tag of 899 CNY or Rs 9,300 (approx).
